Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026. CashLog is operated by Web Mavens LLC.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and the name you enter. We sign you in by emailing a one-time code, so we do not hold a password for the app.
- Your books: the businesses, books, entries, amounts, remarks, categories, payment modes and parties you record, and a history of changes to entries.
- Bill photos and files: photos you attach to entries, and report files you upload to import. If you import a CashBook report, we download the bill photos that report links to, on your instruction.
- Sharing: the email addresses of people you invite to a book.
- Notifications: a device token, if you allow notifications, so we can tell you when someone changes a shared book.
- Technical logs: standard server logs such as IP address and time of request, kept for security and troubleshooting.
The app does not collect your location, contacts or advertising identifier. The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to attach a photo.
How we use it
Only to run the service: to show your books to you and the people you share them with, to send sign-in codes, invitations and notifications, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, show adverts or use your data for advertising.
Who can see it
- People you add to a book can see that book's entries, photos and member list, according to the role you give them.
- Our service providers process data on our behalf: our hosting provider (storage and servers), Amazon Web Services (sending email), and Apple (delivering notifications to iPhones).
- Web Mavens staff may access data when needed to support you or keep the service running. Administrators see account details and usage counts, not the contents of your entries, in normal operation.
- We may disclose data if the law requires it.
Security
The app connects to the service over HTTPS. Bill photos are stored privately and are only served to signed-in members of the book they belong to.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app; see how account deletion works.
Children
CashLog is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.
